Initialization: Agent-Driven Development at Crenet Games
Welcome to the Crenet Games Engineering blog.
This space is dedicated to breaking down the backend architecture, multiplayer synchronization, and infrastructure decisions that power our game ecosystem.
Over the past two weekends, we utilized an agent-driven development pipeline to rapidly prototype and deploy functional Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for two distinct titles:
- The Everything Quiz: A real-time multiplayer trivia platform.
- Caelum Exercitus: A spatial ship-combat sandbox emphasizing single-touch tactical mechanics.
While AI code generation dramatically accelerates the boilerplate and initial scaffolding, the true engineering challenge remains in building scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure around it.
Coming Up Next: Generative AI API costs are the largest bottleneck for scalable indie development. In our next post, we will publish a complete architectural breakdown of the backend powering The Everything Quiz. We will detail how we engineered a dynamic write-through cache backed by Firebase and community voting heuristics to serve LLM-generated content with zero continuous inference costs and zero API latency.
Stay tuned, Emmanuel
